Joseph Merritt & Company was founded in 1908 to provide blueprints for architecture, engineering and construction. Check in today, and you’ll see we’re always evolving to serve our customers. Technology is our friend, and we have the experience and judgment to use it wisely.

Over the decades, we’ve become a go-to for healthcare and education institutions, as well as cities and towns throughout the region. We provide a full range of print and digital services, plus equipment sales and service, and we’re not stopping there.

Joseph Merritt & Co. produces the world’s first four color vinyl graphics for ski gondolas in Killington, Vermont.

Merritt Color Imaging Formed

Merritt Color Imaging, a division of Joseph Merritt & Co. is formed and becomes the first CT Authorized Fabricator of 3M Scotchprint.

First to Offer Plain Paper Copying

Joseph Merritt & Co. is the first blueprinter in the Northeast to offer Plain Paper Copying in lieu of traditional diazo (ammonia based) blueprints.

Acquire Enterprise Blueprint

Joseph Merritt & Co. acquires Enterprise Blueprint in New Haven.

DocuTech Electronic Printing

Joseph Merritt & Co. becomes the first service bureau to offer DocuTech Electronic Printing.

Selected a Beta Test Site

Joseph Merritt & Co. is selected as the Beta Test site for Canon’s Bubble Jet Copier.

Cornering the Color Copy Market

Joseph Merritt & Co. is the first to develop the color copy market in the Northeast using Canon’s color laser copier.

Expanding to Danbury

Joseph Merritt & Co. expands to Danbury, CT by purchasing United Reproductions.

Joseph Merritt & Co. runs its last ‘blue background, white line’ blueprint.

Joseph Merritt & Co. becomes a complete reproduction service and has the largest stock of drafting supplies and equipment in the state.

Founded, on 4th floor of the YMCA building on Broad Street, Hartford CT, providing blueprints to engineering friends.

Ed Perry, Owner and CEO

Over the last three decades, the printing industry has evolved rapidly, and Ed has kept Merritt on the leading edge. Ed oversaw the diversification of Joseph Merritt & Company’s services to add digital and technology products. While always moving forward, Ed has never lost sight of the old-school customer service that sets Merritt apart.

Kevin Perry, President and COO

Building on his father’s legacy of loyalty to customers, suppliers and employees, Kevin brings a fresh perspective and deep expertise in digital solutions. Prior to joining Joseph Merritt & Company, Kevin built a career in technology sales, translation services and data conversion in the U.S. and abroad. Kevin looks at challenges with an entrepreneurial spirit to deliver consistently superior results.
